Hey moosie,

I'm also looking forward to seeing the alphaticker in action. I must say though that I'm rather disappointed in it in a few ways. My original impression was that it was a realtime ticker, but that doesn't appear to be the case. I've spoken with mgmt via e-mail and have been informed that the current version available for download is not yet fully functional. For instance, the retrieval intervals are supposed to be able to be set from anywhere between one to ten minutes. It appears as though the current version is set at a default interval of two minutes, and is not able to be adjusted (aparently the variable interval ticker will be available in the coming weeks). And so, it does not appear as though it will actually be streaming precise realtime info ever, and that the quickest updates will come within a minimum of one minute. I guess I can live with that, given the fact that it's free and I'm not yet willing to pay for a realtime service.

I'm not entirely sure if the updates will be received from a realtime bot as it is, so quotes may be delayed even further. I'll end up having to see how the streaming quotes correlate with freerealtime.com tomorrow.

I've also been told that the sports score ticker, Fedex on-time delivery indicator, scrolling news headlines, and other functions of the alphaticker will be coming online during various dates in the coming months. I'll try and keep you updated on when these services become available depending upon how much interest is expressed. I'm sure you don't have any use for more than a few of its potential applications.

Lemme know...
Dave
