What do you wireless folks think of this? Couldn't find any info on pricing other than its cheaper than a T1 -- which doesn't say much.

I agree with your assessment, Frank, that Rochester was one of the first regulatory and marketing experiments for competitive local service. However, from my viewpoint within Time Warner, it was just as much a technical experiment for TWX as it was regulatory and marketing. The equipment we were trialing was just out of the lab. In some cases, still in the lab and we were coaxing it into the field.

The gestation period for equipment of this sort is not trivial. This is why I maintain the opinion that voice over IP will still be several years in coming, knowing what it took to get circuit switched voice over HFC up and running.
