Steve, to me Paul is writing concerning the foreknowledge of God. Since God lives in eternity, God knows in eternity all who were going to be saved. When all those are saved, then that will be the situation Paul is writing about. That's the way I see it. Amazing how God can work out in human history the things He knows from eternity that were going to happen. ""Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know." (Acts 2:22 NIV) "This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross." (Acts 2:23 NIV) "elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied." (1 Pet 1:2 NKJV) BTW, I read all the post, not sure I understand it all, most of it sounds good to me. I'm reminded of the events in Mat 16 where Jesus was refering to thimgs spiritual and the disciples were thinking about human/worldly things. In Christ, David
