Unfortunately, you pay for location. The lot costs a certain amount, based on size and place, and then the house costs a certain amount based on size, age, amenities and condition. This place is cheap compared to Hawaii, California, or New York.

Scott, there's a couple of empty lots on the mailroute I did today that list for $1,000,000 each. Neither one is even an acre. But you can see downtown Los Angeles, 50 miles away, on a clear day. Looks like Oz. Oz with grafitti.
