John,

<Is this an exception or are prices 25% lower in general at shopping.com?>

I don't know in general. The only reason I found this is that a couple days ago a friend advised me to buy the book "trading for a living".
He said he bought at a bookstore for $55. I didn't feel like paying that much, so I tried amzn, buy.com and shopping.com.
It was $42 at amzn and $30 at shopping. the other was in between.
So in two out of two shopping was the lowest. This is the extent of my experience.

There is a price comparison "bot" named "mysimon.com" that will list sites and their prices for an item. If you have a large quantity of stuff to get I would definitely use that.
