Now that the Clinton senate trial is over, what exactly has the DOJ achieved? Clinton's got off scot free. Not so much as a censure. Sure, all that publicity was highly embarrassing and negative, but Clinton still gets to finish his term. And I'll bet it's business as usual for him. Oh, the people may change (no more interns!) and the places will be different (probably not in the White House!). But I can't believe that Clinton is going to keep his pants zipped up for good ;)

I'm just wondering if a similar outcome is going to occur with the MSFT trial. All this drama and gong banging is definitely not good for MSFT. But at the end of it, is MSFT going to get off as well? I can see it now: MSFT is found guilty (impeached!). Then the case goes for appeal after appeal (senate trials). Then it's business as usual for MSFT. With one important twist: the buck$ keep rolling in, and the stock price, well.. :)

Call me naive, but I think there's enough perversity in the courts to ensure that such a scenario may actually occur.

What is worst is the next generation of hand held smart devices may not use CE as OS , and may not use the INTEL cpu as the central brain either, the Japanese is now investing big on the OS for those smart devices, and they want control both the hardware/software/market , you will see the impact in the next two to three years.
