Maybe they needed more money for other operating costs. Also, I don't think getting into too many private placements is a good thing. So that may be another reason for the amounts in question. Maybe witht his placement they can go another year or two in R&D. Who knows.

what if they raise the money buy the equipment and find out that the chips are failing and need more work and some redesign, for which of course they would need to raise more money...
