I am fairly familiar with methadone treatment for long-term pain. One of my clients suffered scarring of his lungs, heart and mediastinum after treatment for Hodgkin's disease. The doctor gave concurrent radiation and bleomycin, which potentiates radiation, so he suffered horrible scarring, and the twisting up of the scar tissue causes nerve pain. It was malpractice. I represented him for 4 or 5 years, so I learned a lot about pain therapy. Junkies are given liquid methadone, but pain therapy the doctor gives pills. It is less thought-foosling than morphine. I can't handle morphine. Anyway, since I started taking MSM, my pain is much better. Unbelievable, but true. (See posts to Henry Niman, supra.)
