You have almost got it correct. I said that

1. Most s/w Y2K dollars have been spent in '98. S/W Q/a being what it is, the CIOs who haven't solved the s/w side of Y2K are most probably out of jobs while their replacements are rolling out production systems.

2. Any remaining allocation of Y2K budget, if any, will more likely be spent on h/w in '99.

3. Therefore, Y2K can only have a positive effect on enterprise h/w sales, and in turn DELL's '99 revenues.
