Jan, <If you have a small box position, gap up is a good way to day trade.> I think gap-up-open can only happen if there are a lot of "buy at the market" orders placed before the market opens. This practice was very profitable till Jan 8. It has been not profitable lately. So I guess it isn't done anymore. However, I wonder if the SP futures are up a lot, maybe tomorrow we will see it again. I think there is a positive correlation there. -Sarmad
