Dole was a great American but lousy choice for President. He lost and lost big. Anyone with half a brain outside of the beltway could have told the Republican leadership he didn't stand a chance. Unfortunately I fear the same thing will be said of George W Bush when he loses to a very weak candidate in Al Gore.

It's interesting how you view an honest appraisal of a past election and potential future one as "speaking ill of other Republicans". That's another one of the problems with the Republican party leaders. They are afraid to simply speak in open and honest ways about past Presidential elections. And instead elect to slap eachother on the back and blame it on the media. Or the economy or some other such nonsense. The party needs someone with a message! Delivered with passion! Alan Keyes has that message.

If he makes some people in the party uncomfortable, then so be it! Maybe they need to feel a little discomfort every once in a while. It say's more about them than about Dr. Keyes message.
