Elwood: The most powerful theme running through the presentation was EP's personal belief in the Internet. It seems that CPQ is trying to become the leading hardware and total solution provider for the internet. Its ownership of AV will give it an edge.

AV must become one of the leading destination sites. It might take $2 billion to achieve this. There are ways of raising that money. Selling off part of AV in these times of high valuation is one of those ways. But CPQ will not be rushed into announcements about it. It is putting together the package. The component pieces of the package, like Shopping.com have a recogvalue, but AV as a whole has not yet been valued. The whole will be greater than its parts. We will bring part of it to market when the valuation is clear.

I head a remark to the effect that 60% of transactions with the channel partners is through the internet, in addition to the direct sales.

Off for my morning cuppa tea now.
