Can you see my point?

Not only can I see your point, I practice it. Asking someone to expand upon or explain their position is certainly appropriate. If they can't do that you take the post for what it was and ignore it. If they can, they've added to the discussion and you have more input, a new thought process, or new information to contemplate. That only helps.

On many of these boards though, when someone introduces an unpopular idea, they are shouted down as some blasphemer. "If you don't agree with us you must be short." If you're not short it's because you have no sac." That's patently ridiculous, distasteful, and doesn't add to the dialog. Challenge someone's ideas, not their manhood. We'll all be better off.

Cheers -
