Dell Quarterly Profit In Line, But Revenues Soft
ROUND ROCK, Texas (Reuters) - Dell Computer Corp. (Nasdaq:DELL - news), the top direct supplier of personal computers, Tuesday posted fourth-quarter profits in line with Wall Street expectations despite lower than expected revenue growth.

Net income for the fourth quarter ended Jan. 29, 1999, rose 49.2 percent to $425 million, or 31 cents per diluted share, compared to $285 million, or 20 cents per diluted share in the year-ago fourth quarter ended Feb. 1, 1998.
