How would you spin this Ken. Viacom is planning on an IPO for Blockbuster before the end of March. They will sell 20 percent of the company to the public, then spin off the rest to shareholders later in the year. Blockbuster has been a black eye to Viacom since day one. Blockbuster has made a comeback due to the revenue sharing arrangement between the movie studios and the company.

Obviously there is not buyer for the division. Viacom will downplay VOD as "not here yet" technology and take advantage of this window of opportunity to raise cash from their Blockbuster IPO. Then they will remove from Viacom alltogether by spinning it off to shareholders later this year. This is what I call a pump and dump. Might be a great opportunity to establish shorts on Blockbuster stock. Lets hope they can float the IPO.
