Nobody on this thread even knew about the market share loss and nobody here knew about the negative pc sales for the industry in 1998.

Michael, the market share drop, as mentioned in casual reference by IDC, was due to seasonal factors, more related to high consumer demand in the Christmas selling season. IDC stated such. Morever, DELLs market share gains y-o-y were impressive.

Also, negative pc sales was revs only, with very healthy unit growth. DELL, of course, didn't see this negative growth; revs, units, eps, or anything else...

negative on dell.....

out of curiousity, what long positions do you hold, or you feel have value in today's market?

understand the market dynamic...how much have dell fundamentals truly changed, can't maintain 50% growth, so we must settle for 40% growth..look as an investor, or owner of the company, would you sell your company, because it is only growing 40% and it will double in two years...i wouldn't...

use common sense , buy growth, everything is relative to the market dynamic..i heard the same analyst mantra with dell @ 60 several years ago...i think you will find on this thread, long term investors who have dell at an adjusted cost basis in the teens...i'm one!
