Camcorders - fantastic - I hadn't thought of that as an application. Makes a lot of sense though.

Ron,

The combination DSC (digital still camera) and digital camcorder using CF is a value added evolution of this market. In essence, a DSC is a camcorder capable of taking single, high resolution images. In the next few years it will be possible to send video clips downloaded directly from a CF card into your laptop as an e-mail attachment.

This appears to be Panasonics answer to the latest Mavica that offers only 1024 x 768 DSC resolution and the ability to record brief (15 to 30 seconds) mpeg video clips directly onto a 1.44 MB floppy.

It is easier to justify an $800 purchase when both functions are packed into a single device.
