It's nice to hear from another ex-employee.

He doesn't post very often, but some of the most valuable info on this thread has come from Daniel Caldwell. I hope the thread will be similarly enriched now that you're free to express yourself.

You made the following post on Rambus thread at Message 7284735.

It has been suggested that RMBS is an IP company, and I agree. Basically their business model "taxes" every PC made in the next 3 years. I have no doubt that Rambus will become the dominant technology.

My guess is that they will average around $2 per system.

But contrast that with another IP company (my current employers), PTEC, who make the BIOS for more than half the worlds PCs. My guess is that their "tax" will be around the same. They are currently trading at a PE of around 16. Where is the logic in that?

This indicates that you left Phoenix in the last 4 weeks. I recently suggested that an ex-Phoenix employee with an MBA paid for over a 6 year period might not have received a thorough enough exit interview process when he went to the Philips USB group in Mountain View. Am I on target or completely off base?

I'm assuming that most or all of your stock options were underwater and played a role in your departure. Do you believe Phoenix stock will rise in the future or have you given up hope?

I'm disappointed that Phoenix has made only a 32% climb out of the pit last year at a time when RadiSys has climbed 102%, as indicated by the 20 week chart at techstocks.com. Jack Kay stated at the conference call last quarter that he expects Pico to grow 30-35% this year and the RadiSys rise supports that forecast. Since you're British and were presumably involved with David Frodsham's group before he moved to California to run the PC group, could you shed some light on the source of this growth? Will it lead to semiconductor IP design wins for information appliances and embedded systems?
