"Surprised I haven't seen any questions from the first 1000 posts of reading."

Sure as I read the posts I had questions. You expect everyone reading any of the posts to just fire away and ask questions when they don't understand something in a post?

We're not really writing a text book, and proof-reading, here. We're living our lives, and asking questions and making comments that are relevant to the here and now. If answers can be gotten by reading through posts, that's great. But generally specific questions are best answered by asking/re-asking the question. If adequate answers are not forthcoming from the gurus, then one must seek elsewhere.

Okay, Sean. Here's a question for you and the other gurus here.

This is a true-or-false question, plus explanation for answer.

I'm now studying (re-studying) moving averages. At present it appears to me that *no* particularly valuable insights can be obtained from sophisticated indicators derived from moving averages (MACD, for example) that can not be obtained by studying moving averages *directly*. Thus there really is no reason to seek out or create some derivative indicator -- just learn how to read your moving averages!!

True or false?

Thanks,
Nicholas
