I did a HotBot search on "Steve Jobs" and "Michael Eisner". Got the above as well as a 1995 quote from Jobs complimenting Eisner/Disney for their mentoring of him/Pixar.

I just finished reading Jobs' 1998 letter to Pixar shareholders, in which he comments again and again on how fruitful the partnership with Disney is.

1) The takeover premium seems low (even at $51), but if Jobs is actually in a position to drive this deal, what's the point of pushing up the price if he's going to run the show anyway.

Great point. Also, we'd get Disney stock.

Stay tuned and be particularly careful -- I agree with the comment on another thread. This could well be a well-thought out hoax (or piece o AAPL disinformation) but it's a good one.

Appleinsider seems less likely to run with something like this than a place like, oh, Mac OS Rumors. I don't know what Apple would gain from spreading disinformation like this, unless they were just trying to displace attention. ??
