Mo, 5er finally said something I agree with... CNBC just reported that 5er said PC's sales will remain strong for corps for the rest of the year because their research show that most companies have waited until the last minute to replace hardware. That is also what we are seeing out in the field. Since the software portion is much harder to fix, that is what most companies started with....

Mohan, Kanellos should be careful. There are people whose only bottom line is "why is financial journalism going to hell in a hand basket?"

Michael Kanellos, we know you can make the circumstantial ad hominen attack against a reader who takes the time to write into you with a beef, but let's test you logical skills a little further.

A. "Dell investors are like the modern day equivalent of flat-earthers." That sir, is a direct quote from Ashok Kumar you chose to use in your piece today. Let's emphasize that term - DELL INVESTORS

news.com

B. Kumar has had a buy rating on this stock for several months (not that you would note that in your piece), having downgraded it from a strong buy to a buy when DELL last reported, correct sir?

C. Kumar has clients who get his research and it is reasonable to believe that some of them have acted on his "buy" recommendation, correct sir?

D. If you buy shares in DELL, you would be a member of the group of person who are DELL investors. Are you following me so far?

Good.

Well, Mr. Kanellos, since you're so interested in the "bottom line" you've left us with an interesting "bottom line", perhaps even several "bottom lines".

1. Based on the above, logic seems to suggest that Kumar is calling his some of his own clients "the modern day equivalant of flat earthers".

2. Since Kumar is the one who has been recommending DELL as a buy, effectively suggesting to clients that they join a group ("DELL investors") he himself now refers to as "the modern day equivalent of flat earthers", he must himself in some manner subscribe to the "flat earth" theory, and since subscribers to the "flat earth" theory are commonly referred to as "flat earthers", he himself is a "flat earther."

Makes sense to me <g>

Good trading,

Tom
