To expand a little on this - if the stock is really headed into the toilet, management knows this, and is therefore selling large portions of their holdings, management will lose all profits and probably end up in jail as part of an insider trading scandal. I sincerely doubt that anyone involved is really that stupid. That being said, it is still a concern whenever an insider sells, and you need to include it as one data point in your analysis of a company. Has anyone called the investor relations department to see if they will comment on the sales?
