MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 16, 1999--Perfumania, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRFM), the
nation's largest perfumery chain, announced today that it has signed a letter of intent for the
acquisition of the PostaCard.com, an Internet site provider of all-occasion electronic greeting

The proposed acquisition will be for an undisclosed amount of cash. PostaCard.com, located

"It has always been our intention to provide additional services to our on-line customers," Ilia
Lekach, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Perfumania said. "When completed, this
acquisition will bring additional traffic to our Internet store, www.perfumania.com. It will also
help Perfumania enhance the gift giving experience as well as become an additional vehicle for
cross marketing and cross promotional activities to be conducted with a group of selected
companies, leaders of their respective retail categories."

Mr. Lekach added, "Perfumania is the largest perfumery retailer in North America, it is now
our intention to be the largest perfumery chain in the world. We want to provide the
opportunity for buying Perfumania's products, locally, in local currency, at discounted prices
without having to pay for international shipping, or experiencing customs clearing delays."

Perfumania recently launched its Internet web store. The Company's strategy is to take
advantage of its name recognition and cross market the Internet web site with its 290 retail
stores. Perfumania intends to name Internet affiliates in other countries and to franchise retail
stores globally.

brand name and designer fragrances with some $180 million in annual sales. The Company
operates a chain of more than 290 retail stores specializing in the sale of fragrances at
