"Equal Pay for Equal Work" is the government mantra now. The real issue should be "Equal Pay for Equal Results". No one pays for work. They pay for output. There are wide variances in results among programmers and analysts for the same amount of time expended, for instance.

As for foreign high tech workers, most of the better US high tech workers have nothing to worry about.

<<And what social engineering legislation would that be brees? I am not in favor of "equal pay for equal work" legislation or affirmative action. So what else is there.>>

So, are you saying that you are against legislation that would subsidize day care so single moms and moms from low income families can go to work?

Are you against abortion laws that permit women to put off carrying babies to full term until it is a convenient career choice?

Are you against federal job training programs for "displaced homemakers?"

There are about a zillion that support women in the work place. Its interesting that everybody was complaining a few years ago about gender equity in the work place. The only people I see saying "not me" are the ones who are afraid somebody will point out "that is how you got what you have." Wasn't it you who was raising the issue in regards to the medical profession?
