NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--December 9, 1998--Golden Books Family Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ-GBFE) (the ''Company'') today updated the market on its ongoing restructuring efforts. While the Company continues its discussions with the Steering Committee representing the holders of its 7.65% Senior Notes due 2002, representatives of the 8.75% Convertible Trust Originated Preferred Securities due 2016 (the ''TOPrS''), and other creditor constituencies in connection with a possible restructuring of its indebtedness, the Company is not proceeding with the transactions outlined in its press release of November 5, 1998. The Company has paid and will continue to pay its trade obligations. Not a dog, imo.
