I have taken a very simplistic approach to prayer anymore. I am committing myself more to just thanking God for His blessings.Period. I have been down the road of Oh. God. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE and to infinity. I don't want to start preaching but that is so contrary to so many things in God's word. Consider the lillies of the fields, the birds of the air , the sparrow, and how God provides for them and how much more does He provide for all of US. We all have read the passages a hundred times. God has been so good and faithful to all of us and He will continue to do so. He inhabits the praises of His people, so how much more do we need to know? By the way. How did the interview go ? Praise God . Since you are not shouting from the roof tops I take it to mean you are still looking. Pray that a person I witnessed to on SI will come by my home town to do some trail biking with me. He lives in Fla. and is heading north ( to party ) very soon, passing through Va. I planted a few seeds; and I know they will grow. Basically I just would like to meet him and take him out to dinner and talk , not to further "convert him", oh. and do some serious trail biking too. I pray that the Lord will work it out. Barry: I pm'ed you about a concern of mine before XMAS. About my business, and declining sales; you have got to hear this story. THIS IS FUNNY AS ALL GET OUT !! Well I was in a panic when I asked you to pray about my situation, self loathing, self doubt, you know the rest. I thought , I'm going down the tubes , I know it !! Here is what happened. I have this elaborate spreadsheet that I devised and I do some of the work by hand but the rest the spreadsheet does. Well it works fine until you make a big mistake on the front end. I keep a yr to date total column and back in April I made a big mistake that skewed the results for the rest of the year. I am down about 8% yr to yr but I thought I was down, 18%. The short of it is that I have been working my fingers to the bone the past 4 months trying to make up for what I thought I lost. I have added some new product lines, beefed up my inventory, and made some other changes that I feel will prosper us this year. Looking back I'm happy I made the mistake because it spurred me on to make some changes I probably would not have. Actually I had a pretty good year, at least a lot better than I thought. If anyone is asking how this can happen; some one in business for themselves cannot tell 1/2 the time if they are making money or not. I rely on a year end inventory, and my inventory is not computerized, so throughout the year I make educated guesses as to my inventory level. Something tells me the Lord had a hand in it; I can hear his laughter; and the response "Gott-cha". In Christ.gregor
