Too late - my 15 minutes of grace are up.

But look on the bright side - you'll never be faced by the depressing site of an empty inbox.

The bait and switch action in gold stocks continues: +5% on Friday -4% today. Inflation concerns are also being turned on and off from moment to moment. Gold was down a stalwart $6.20 at its day's low then +$2.40 off its low. This is no time for bravery.

Japan's decision to monetize their debt has a positive effect for gold further out due to inflation consequences. On the list of pluses and minuses for the 1999 POG outlook, I would place this action in the positive column. It seems we have a solid base at the $280 area. With all the possible catalysts to cause gold to move up, Y2K included, I'd say the longs are in a pretty good position.
