As a stock, I see a lot of parallels between Dell in early 1998, and EMC....We all know what Dell did this past year... The momentum is gathering among the investment community to place EMC up with the 5 horseman..but it is amazing how many people are still clueless about the company.. One threadster whose technical knowledge I greatly respect is critical of EMC's technological prowress...and believes that they are an extremely strong marketer of above-average quality (that CPQ/IBM have better products)...Well, it's hard to argue with EMC's success in recent years...even with "inferior" (as my source would say) products.. I like what I see...I especially like the CEO flat out stating his revenue goals/growth goals for the company....My kind of company....I bought in at 99 with the goal of 30-40% appreciation this year... If all things go great, it could see another 100% appreciation year, and join the horseman...but everything would have to go right... Ironically, I bet some money has shifted from Dell to EMC today... Both are great holds for the next couple years...Good luck...
