Dell Computer earned 31 cents a share in the fourth quarter, up from 23 cents a year ago. Wall Street had expected Dell to earn 31 cents. Revenue rose 38 percent to $5.2 billion. Dell also announced a 2-for-1 stock split. HP posted a first quarter profit of 92 cents a share, up from 86 cents a year ago and Wall Street's estimate of 83 cents a share.
