J-R,

Liquidity is a double-edged sword in that it provides opportunities for small and large investors alike to move in at the basement to take advantage of a run-up, but in BII's case it's proven to be a liability. This stock cannot maintain the share price it needs to qualify for a listing because of the large number of shares outstanding. There are just too many weak hands out there that see more money to be made off this stock daytrading than by staying long and strong.

If the float/outstanding shares were smaller, BII probably could have started trading NASD by early March but now it looks like we won't see this until late-spring at the earliest. Those stocks with small floats tend to gap up quickly and quite nicely, however, the drawback here is that institutional investors tend to stay away as they are unable to take large positions. In the case of BII, with a larger float, it looks as if no major players want to take a piece of pie and tie up a good portion of it and cause the necessary squeeze upwards. This is a major problem. The stock is essentially trading at these levels courtesy of small-time investors/daytraders mainly, and if they bail out for any reason, the size of the crater would probably be fitting for the sequel - "Deep Impact II" -
