Dell Computer getting crushed in after hour trading. Looks like a bad day for stocks tomorrow.

OSX action was bad today, but could have been worse given the steep drop in crude. Modest rebound the last few minutes.

Ace technician Roy Blumberg now recommending OS stocks. Sees sector as a good value play.

george, you and i are in agreement. i have only taken 1 position so far (VTS) and would like nothing more than to see the sector and the commodity implode to the point where i see a towel flying into the center of the ring from the corner of the remaining bulls. i was having dinner with a client last night and explaining why a complete give up on heavy volume would be very bullish for the sector (from that point on). obviously this sounds like an almost mean spirited wish from the standpoint of people who are heavily into the sector already; but from my perspective, such a shakeout would serve them well also. as i cited in my post several weeks ago, a complete surrender like what we saw this fall in the semi equip stocks is what we need. stocks like cymi, etc fell off a cliff and the bids disappeared. they free falled (literally... many stocks were falling 15-20% a day for consecutive days) for a few days. the selling was no more sustainable than a blow off tops' buying is. to technicians like myself, this signalled an 'alls clear". just hard to believe given the action in the stocks that the quadruple bottom is going to hold- especially with rig taking out its low today on below average bottom. slb is still a long way from its low- predictable as the 'blue chip' is always teh last to fall as it's the bastion of security that many are clinging onto in the sector. no signs of capitulation @ this point. there will be good $ to be made if we have the type of give up that i describe; as the snap backs from such capitulation are dramatic in size and speed.

all imo only....nick
