Patents--IBM

Those who need to understand the patents may proceed with their investigation. The bottom line regarding their value to the company and its shareholders is best answered by what companies are seeking Edig's talent and what they are paying Edig for patent licensing, royalties, or $'s earned per unit produced or delivered by others. Lanier and Intel have made a commitment and it seems likely that Lucent may well be the third company that contracts with Edig.

Questions being asked about whether or not IBM is working with Edig and in what capacity may best be understood by recalling that Edig has stated they are working on a design for Intel requiring VTT and STT capabilities. Over a year ago the company stated that they were also working with IBM with their VTT and STT functions. I can only assume that Edig's work with IBM is at least taking place on speech functions. No one from the company has yet clarified if Edig is working with IBM with music. It would not surprise me to hear they will neither confirm nor deny their collaboration with IBM on music.
