EyeDrMike;

Right, I said the same thing in my post you are simply repeating it. I was merely questioning the assumption that component costs was a major factor in DELL's profit picture this quarter, which is still excellent. That I feel is an incorrect diagnosis.

I don't care about DELL. I have no DELL stock. Maybe I should. I have no axes to grind about DELL. No reason to defend it. My interest this time was sparked by the intense focus on one company as though, it is the whole sector or the stock market. My concern is that analysts are looking for holes where there are none because they are deliberately, talking the the market down. Anddd that affects SEG.

I might also add that in reviewing a very large company such as DELL or SEG one must pay attention to detail. Their balance sheets, marketing strategies, product lines and market are never simple. Making assessments about their futures requires very careful analysis and while analysts can provide information their motives are often suspect. Only some can be relied on. It is difficult enough for their managements who have all the information, let alone, an individual stockholder.
