As Christine has said among others, an executed murderer need not be feared anymore. There are plenty of them where there is no doubt that they did the crime, such as O.J. The execution should be the day after one appeal is used. That is a very rational and reasoned out way to deal with these social misfits. Waiting until the system is totally fair and for absolute certainty of guilt is irrational because there is absolute certainty about nothing, only degrees of probability. We accept a certain percentage of innocent deaths in driving, flying, sports, etc because of mistakes. Why do you insist on the system of execution being free of error. The best that we can do is to try to minimize the errors.
