ProNetLink.com and The Journal of Commerce Sign Strategic Development Agreement
NEW YORK, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- (OTC Bulletin Board: PNLK - news) ProNetLink.com®, pronetlink.com, the Webtool and Internet Directory specializing in global trade, announced today that it has signed a letter of intent with the leading trade and transportation news provider, The Journal of Commerce Inc. They will form a joint development venture to provide current trade news, articles, trade-specific products and their critically important Port Import-Export Reporting Service (PIERS) reports to ProNetLink.com members.

The new venture will allow ProNetLink members to have immediate access to daily updates of industry news generated by The Journal of Commerce and access to PIERS online data. ProNetLink members will also be eligible for free trial subscriptions to the Journal of Commerce Newspaper and access to its proprietary website, joc.com. As part of the agreement, the companies will provide prominent links to each other's sites.

''Our venture with ProNetLink is a good strategic fit,'' says Bill Lavner, Vice President of New Media for the Journal of Commerce Publications Group. ''The international trade market is increasingly relying on the Internet to do business. Services such as ProNetLink make getting trade information on the Web easier and more efficient. By offering the top daily news from the prestigious Journal of Commerce and quick, affordable access to PIERS data, ProNetLink will be invaluable to importers and exporters who want to get trade information and put it into a meaningful context.''

ProNetLink will also offer quick links to PIERS, the trade data unit of The Journal of Commerce Inc., and the leading source of global trade information in the United States.

PIERS' website, www.piers.com, offers users the most comprehensive statistics on global cargo movements transiting seaports in the Unites States and Latin America. Each day at every leading port, PIERS collects and compiles data from bills of lading and vessel manifests. This data is stored in the PIERS database and is used by customers as a tool for resource/sales management, opportunity development, trending analysis, legal/regulatory issues and other forms of research.

Through PIERS.com, any customer can search the database for trade data that enables them to identify new markets, find sources or supply, monitor their competition and uncover new business opportunities. PIERS data and reports are charged online and on a pay-per-view basis, so users pay immediately and only for the information they need.

''The Journal of Commerce has been publishing trade information since the tall ships have been sailing the world,'' says Glenn Zagoren, President of ProNetLink's strategic development and marketing firm. ''They have blended years of publishing experience with today's advanced technology. ProNetLink and The Journal of Commerce together will form a powerful relationship that will benefit all businesses in trade throughout the world.''

ProNetLink continues to enhance its Webtool designed for global commerce. The addition of the Journal of Commerce will allow members who are importing, exporting, shipping or manufacturing to have more efficient and expanded information services.

ProNetLink's most anticipated and most expanded version launches at the end of March.
