Richard, I thought you tick-tocked us out of WCW about 48 days ago.

Isn't EA the license holder for WCW now?

True enough, a bad review, of course you DID miss the Rugrat's Scavenger Hunt preview on the same page:

ign64.ign.com

and THQ, of course, just extended that license.

Did anyone read this review of WCW Nitro?
Quality over at THQ is really beginning to improve.http://www.ign64.com/WCW Nitro

Bummer isn't it. Just like that really negative review of thunder a few weeks back. You know Thunder dont you... that new PSX title by THQ that is near the top of the sales and rental charts? Making lots of money for our little company. Just like Nitro N64 will.

Just goes to show you a little advertising and a popular name will sell to the masses. I am not saying reviews dont matter, they do. But in the case of Wrestling titles, they just dont matter much.

Chris

Richard, I don't remember if that link was posted to this board or not but we all read it on the AOL board a while back. But your (re)posting it here had the good fortune of soliciting MikeD's link to the cool Rugrats review.

Good job buddy, you're finally contributing!

Btw, did you catch these (courtesy of Todd Fender)?:

Stated by Gysi to shareholder phone calls, Thunder #2 overall game in first 2 weeks of January.

Press release mentions Thunder #1 PSX game in first 2 weeks of January.

Bestbuy.com lists Thunder as a best selling game in January

Funcoland.com lists Thunder and Revenge as current top sellers

Babbages.com still lists Thunder as Top 5 best selling.

Ebworld.com still lists Thunder as Top 5 best selling.

Sure I'd like THQ to produce award winning, world renowned, innovative games, but this is not possible every time. Revenge has received great reviews all around I believe.

I'm sure THQ doesn't purposefully develop games that aren't the highest of quality on purpose...do you?

I'll take high volume selling games, based on the licenses THQ has secured in between these award-winning, highly reviewed and recognized games any day.

This is called capitalizing on a license even when a game may not come out the way it was intended. That is the value of licensing.

Not bad for a license we lost the last week of December.
