What you say about large positions does not mean too much. If you review the top 10 positions of major funds on a quarterly basis, you will see stocks added to the list and stocks dropped from the list on a regular basis. Years ago I'm sure Motorola was on many of those lists. IBM was on those lists for many years until they ran into trouble. They were dropped, and are now back on some. The art for the fund managers is to dump while affecting the price as little as they possibly can.
