Mike, having been through the 80's collapse, I won't touch any until I see the whites of their eyes. By number of companies, most probably went bankrupt or were absorbed by someone larger in the 80's and I will not touch any now until I see some bankruptcies. That is when you will have the most fear in the stock prices and be able to buy the best ones the cheapest.

If it never gets that bad, then I will miss out; but that will be my signal to start doing my homework. (There are fewer rinky-dinky companies now so I do not expect that panic in the stocks will get as extreme as it did then.)
