Except that each of the other companies exceeded estimates, IBM and Cisco by a penny or two as I recall, CPQ by more than that, and Microsoft had a blowout. Also, all of them with the exception of Cisco were selling for lower PE's than Dell at the time. I doubt this is the end of big cap tech investing, but money certainly does not have to rotate back into Dell or any of the others if the fund managers smell more bad news on the horizon. I'm out of the boxmakers in any event, still own AMAT and Intel. I may not own them much longer either if things get ugly.
