You need reasonable equity. At very minimum, 10k, yet we always reserve the right to up the number if you take on a concentrated position. Its for your protection as well as the firms. The short ball fat guy is simply doing his job. Remember, if thefirm loses money, it means you went belly up. The naked calls helps avoid certain short sale requirements but then dealing with options has its own bag of problems, illiquidity, spreads, thin markets, etc. Regards, Steve@yamner.com
