Re: shorting stocks under $5

What if you are short a stock that drops below $5 (hopefully on its way to zero)? I assume your broker lets you hang on to your short, but does the margin required suddenly change? Seems like there are many good stocks to short that hover just over $5 then dive toward the bottom after a while. I wonder if this is because shorters pile on just above $5 then hang on tight for the freefall. Anybody know how this works?
