Not sure what is meant by Native Win 98,

What I meant by native Win98 is ?? Win98 had a lot of 'built in' driver? support for video cards when it first came out.

For example you can run multiple monitors in NT but the support is in the drivers provided by the manufacturer ie Matrox supports multiple monitors in NT.

I was under the impression that Win98 handled the issue differently. Win98 does the multiple monitor thing and the oem drivers have to bow to Win98.

Anyhow..my GUESS is that you have a software/driver issue. You may have better luck with all ATI cards..the guy (sable??) in the referenced post had the same mobo but used an AGP card in lieu of the Matrox...DO NOT spend any money on my thoughts..they are guesses. If you have a retail outlet that will let you return a video card an AGP ATI card may be worth a try...oh you did say that two ATI PCI cards did not work?

When you install the video cards is there an option to use a driver supplied on the Win98 disc..rather than using the latest ATI drivers?
