I once lived in the durian capitol of the world, even had a tree in the front yard, but never got used to the stuff. Used to hear stories about a durian falling on someone's head and killing him. Still think it's true - the impact probably broke the fruit open, and the smell got him. In Davao they say that durian "smells like hell, tastes like heaven". In my view, smells like hell, tastes like shit. Or what I think shit ought to taste like. You know what I mean.
