Perhaps it isn't a "total heat" issue; perhaps it is a "specific heat" issue. In other words maybe the chip as a whole isn't out of control, but certain hot spots are too hot...perhaps it becomes a longevity-reliability-warranty issue?

This is in NO way an informed opinion :) Just taking your rumors and seeing if I can make something out of them.

Sun (aka. Shorty Pig :)- not short but have taken some money off the table. Still long CD *sigh* I will NEVER learn...still love just about everything about them though (fraud excluded)...My Starwood lodging is the only thing holding my head above water these days...that and Eidos.

Anybody want to take bets as to when the seasonal double digit tech correction will take place?

Marc...

The URL you posted from ATI had the 128 shipping in Feb. Nowhere does it say "now" like the other products that are shipping. I'm not saying that the 128 isn't shipping (although I doubt it), but that URL doesn't necessarily make the case. NVIDIA isn't the only one that can ship a substandard part before its time. [ooohhh, that oughta get me at least a five page response!]
