AOL buy ATHM ? sounds like CPQ is buying DELL. not likely.

Internet IS falling apart. I see all these internet portals are being bought out by the bigger one, ATHM will be eaten by AT&T and AOL will be killed by Microsoft. Microsoft will kill all the internet companies and monoply the internet just like it does in the OSes. AT&T will kill all the cable companies, then the world will come back to order and the end of the world comes..

Being a non-technical investor, would be so kind as to explain just what "float" is and then once I understand it, how I can determine just what it is at a given point for a stock?
