Evangelical (aka Fundamentalist) churches in the Washington D.C. area. Usually it's a fringe person in the church that brings his name up. Within each fundamentalist church, there is a whole spectrum of types of people. Some people, even in this setting, are more laid back than others, and then there is a marginal element that is extreme. They are each extreme in their own unique way. One might be ultra pro-life and thing that killing abortion doctors is right, another might be almost neo-Nazi and be incensed that anyone would claim that Jesus would be a Jew in the second coming, some types are gun nuts and some are very pro death penalty and are into kill all the criminals; very old testament types. It's really all over the place; but within this type of sub-crowd in the churches; that is where I hear Alan Keyes name come up. I never hear him mentioned by the more average mainstream type of fundamentalist.
