Celeron 400: 28.7
Celeron 300A: 26.1
AMD K6-2 400: 21.4


And this was with AMD's Quake2 patch for 3.19, video mode '3Dnow! OpenGL' selected.

But apparently, I guess the 14-year-old kids you talked to know more than Tom Pabst about gaming performance, right?
