News for today: 02/17 12:06A (WJ) WSJ: BellSouth, 3Com In Internet Deal From The Wall Street Journal ATLANTA -- BellSouth Corp. and 3Com Corp., a maker of computer-networking gear, plan to jointly market high-speed Internet access to customers in BellSouth's southeastern territory. The companies, which plan to announce the alliance today, later this year will roll out "asymmetric digital subscriber line" service to consumers and small businesses using BellSouth's copper telephone lines and 3Com's modems.
