Paul, K-6 III is no disapointment. what the report implies is that the AMD k-2 works well. and so does the k-6III. the "disapointment" are your words and your assessment. AND we all know where you come from.

Paul, the hot link did not work. Look AMd addressed the video problem with 3D now the technology has been out for almost 2 years now and it is has received nothing short of rave reviews. that is a fact and it is undenyable. since the K-6-III incorporates the 3dnow instructions how could it perform any less, it can only perform =to or > than. If anyone should be holding their breath it should be you. As published reports by credable people indicate PentiumIII is a weak offering. you don't seem to be able to distinguish between credible reality and your incredable conjecture. since your a phd i will assume you know what conjecture is.

Pual in post 49878 you typed. the k-6 3/400 compares favorably against the pentium2 450. these are your own words. what is the price of the p450 becasue it should be at $219.00. anything more is a waste of good money.

Paul - RE: "When a pro-AMD site finds the K6-3 uncompetitive, look out !

The K6-3 may be a BIG Disappointment."

Why don't you talk about the ENHANCED performance while running office applications?

But you would like to ignore the fact that a 400MHz K6III might be faster than a 450MHz PIII while running office applications.

The K6-2 was a hit for gamers, the K6III will be aimed at the other side of PC users.
