Paul - Do you recall if Nippon Telegraph and Telephone is a large Novell customer? I seem to remember that some time back NTT Corp was working with Novell (or it might have been Sunw) to develop Internet and Telcom networks.

Anyway, this bio-identity technology is moving very fast and the first company to utilize these security features in their "open" network will reap some very good long term returns.

From the article: "...Until now, several chips were needed to identify fingerprints and could not be used on small electronics devices. But the new chip can be widely used in note-type personal computers, portable phones and other information-related devices to prevent unauthorized people from using them, Takahashi said.

Takahashi said the new chip was to be shown at an international meeting on solid circuits held in San Francisco this week..."
